Telia Internet Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Telia North America, Inc. formally closed the purchase of substantially all operating assets of Apex Global Information Services, Inc. (AGIS), pursuant to a U.S. bankruptcy court order in Detroit, Michigan, entered on April 25, 2000. TeliaNet is Telia International Carrierīs global IP backbone. Built upon infrastructure that is owned and controlled by Stockholm-based Telia AB. It is one of the most extensive wholly owned IP networks in the world. Telia's (TIC) North American headquarters is registered as a U.S. corporation as filed under the laws of the state of Delaware. Its operations are licensed by the FCC to provide global telecommunications services, but the backbone provider's U.S. Headquarters are located in Retson, Va. Telia North America, Inc. (TNA) is also wholly owned subsidiary of. TNA entered the U.S. market in 1998 as a wholesale provider of both telecom and IP services. Atelia AB provide services within IP, Capacity, Voice and Infrastructure to the rapidly growing international wholesale customer segment. Today, the company is a leading European carrier of transatlantic IP traffic to the U.S. Supporting this traffic is a wholly-owned multi-fiber optic network. TNA is part of the Viking Network, the name given to Telia's wholly owned international fibre backbone network. This multi-service network, carrying both IP, voice and high bandwidth data traffic, extends over some 40,000 route kilometres, connecting 100 business centres in Europe and the USA. TNA offers high-speed IP connections and services that include T1 transit services, OC-12 dedicated Internet access on either a measured or flat rate billing arrangement, virtual private networking, turnkey Voice Over IP (VOIP) services, and point-to-point private line services at OC-3, OC-12, and OC-48 transport speeds.
