Jordan Top ISPs in Jordan.
As of March 19, 2002, there were approximately 20 ISPs licensed to operate in Jordan, of which at least 10 were active. Since many subscribers use prepaid Internet cards instead of signing up for dialup contracts, subscriber numbers in Jordan can fluctuate rapidly. Several ISPs claimed higher subscriber counts based on sales of prepaid cards, but those numbers were not confirmed. The Jordanian population is young (see CIA stats below), and ISPs therefore expect rapid subscriber growth in the future. There are no reliable numbers for subscribers to DSL or wireless Internet services in Jordan. GlobalOne's network was recently purchased by Equant. link-net has just opened in Jordan, but it is a promising ISP because it is already Egypt's largest. Batelco hosts the official website of King Abullah II of Jordan.
