Managed security services provider TruSecure Corp. is expanding its offerings with a new service combining traditional incident response with computer forensics, analysis, prosecutorial decision support, network intelligence, IS/Recon and crisis management. The company says the service stems from "significant demand" for independent investigative analysis and a larger market need for security services that provide computer forensics in support of cyber-crime investigations.

The new service, called Investigative Response, provides companies that have recently experienced a computer security breach with the ability to get computer forensics investigators involved and working to provide evidentiary gathering, analysis and effective mitigations to stop repeat events from occurring.

"TruSecure Investigative Response guides companies experiencing insider abuse or external malice with assistance through a critical time of need," said Dr. Peter Tippett, chief technologist at TruSecure. "TruSecure's extensive law enforcement and investigative experience, coupled with our state-of-the-art computer forensics laboratory, allows us to both provide detective and protective action."

The service also provides customers with training on incident response processes, an incident response policy, training on evidence collection and handling, and a "Phase I" investigation that arms the customer with information to make a decision on how to proceed and whether to prosecute. If a customer decides to pursue an investigation after a Phase I analysis, a Phase II investigation can be added that includes additional forensics, investigative effort, analysis, and decision support.
