WaveRider Signs Distribution Agreement WaveRider's latest 2.4 GHz wireless bridge-and-router combo is added to the product list of Nighthawk Electronics, an English distributor.
Toronto, Canada-based WaveRider (NASDAQ: WAVE), a manufacturer of last-mile fixed wireless Internet products, announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Nighthawk Electronics of Essex, England. Nighthawk will distribute WaveRider’s NCL1170 wireless bridge/router throughout the United Kingdom and parts of Western Europe. Under the agreement, Nighthawk will launch a marketing program that will include NCL1170 sales and technical training programs; seminars for resellers and major customers; and advertising, public relations and direct mail campaigns to effectively promote and sell the NCL1170 throughout its reseller network in the UK. Nighthawk expects to increase distribution of the NCL1170 as it expands into additional markets. WaveRider's NCL1170 is the company's latest wireless bridge/router that operates in the license-exempt 2.4 GHz ISM band, the NCL1170 can be deployed quickly and easily. The NCL1170 also includes WaveRider's patent-pending Polling MAC, which eliminates packet collisions, enabling the system to manage greater traffic levels. The company says that the NCL1170's transmission power, at +25dm (where regulations allow) is up to ten times greater than the competition. The antenna can maintain a link with an omnidirectional antenna up to 7 miles away (farther if a sector antenna is used). It uses Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS). End
