MegaPath Networks Inc., business DSL provider, has signed a deal with New Edge Networks to provide T-1 and fractional T-1 services in second- and third- tier U.S. cities.

New Edge Networks serves small and midsize cities with populations between 5,000 and 250,000.

The new alliance serves more than 360 cities in 29 states. Companies that have been previously limited in their choice of broadband access because of high telephone company costs or distance limitations for traditional DSL service now have economical choices for full or fractional T1 service.

MegaPath is offering three different T-1 speed options—384kbps, 768kbps and 1.5 Megabits per second—with guaranteed bandwidth between the customer site and the local telephone company switching center where New Edge Networks collocates its broadband network equipment. In addition, MegaPath T-1 customers receive an unlimited number of e-mail accounts, a static IP address, and up to 16 additional IP addresses at no extra charge. Pricing and availability information can be obtained from 1-877-MEGAPATH.

"MegaPath is a key national partner for New Edge Networks," said Dan Moffat, president and CEO of New Edge Networks. "They can leverage our coverage footprint along with their large customer base and reputation for quality customer support to capitalize on strong broadband demand in markets with limited competition."

The list of cities covered by New Edge Networks is available here.
