Broadband2Wireless Inc., which only three months ago launched its Airora wireless broadband Internet service to resident and small office/home office users in South Boston, is reportedly calling it "quits."

The Boston Globe on Friday reported the company (also known as BB2W) received approval from U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Joan M. Feeney to auction off assets under Chapter 7 of the bankruptcy code.

The company had planned to deploy systems that uses 2.4 gigahertz radio-frequency waves to make the connection. BB2W filed for voluntarily bankruptcy protection on June 12, just two months after formally launching its service.
