Your Logo Members of the ISP Marketing list discuss whether it's worth hiring a company to create your corporate logo.
On the ISP-Marketing list in August, EG sent out an inquiry:
RK warned that while it's certainly advisable, it's far from cheap: "We've paid a couple of times for logo creation and branding. We just did it again for our software development and consulting firm. It cost us around $7K-$10K, but that included logo creation, tagline creation, letterhead design and an introductory letterhead and business card package."
MRT noted that there are a number of ways to get this kind of guidance: "It can cost as much money as you have. The best bet is to talk to several local designers and get an idea from them of what they would charge for a logo/business image package. You might get them to trade their services for some space or a plug at your site; we've done that sort of thing in the past. There is really more voodoo than hard science involved, but a good designer can be worth the price. There are lots of folks on the net that do that sort of thing as well. What's as important as your name and logo is the words that you use to sell your product or service. A site I've found helpful in coming up with the words is Ken Evoy's Site Sell, at http://myss.sitesell.com, and I got a lot out of his free five-day online courses as well as his books."
