Dialup Backup

Many WISPs are offering dialup backup failover for business links, and there's plenty of equipment that makes it possible.

On the ISP-Wireless list in March, GV asked:

List, I've got a customer that wants a VPN Router / Firewall with dialup backup. Any ideas?

Many WISPs were already offering this service.

[RG noted] "I have been using CyberGuard's SG300s VPN/Firewall routers and they are absolutely wonderful. You can pick up the older SnapGear models (they were bought out by CyberGuard) on Ebay for around $100—$150 every now and then. I use them in about 40 homes and businesses right now without any problems."
