Promises gigabit load balancing performance, which should ensure high availability redundancy, scalability, and performance.

RADWARE announced the release of its next generation hardware platform. According to the company, its new Application Switch offers a robust, fast and flexible traffic management solution for users' networks that takes advantage of the latest switching technology, and should help users keep their e-Business sites available 24 hours a day.

The new platform is bundled in a 1U box size, which should allow network administrators to save on rack space, and may be especially suited for ISP/ASP and Web hosting shops. The new Application Switch will ship with RADWARE's GUI configuration management utility, ConfigWare. In addition, the switch has been designed to integrate seamlessly into existing networks through a variety of installation and configuration options. These options include, but are not limited to, a single leg connection (lollipop), and dual leg connections or configurations that connect servers directly to the Application Switch.

The company says that users will benefit from the multi-gigabit ethernet support and easy deployment of high bandwidth. These combined with the software feature set should provide for gigabit load balancing performance, which should ensure high availability redundancy, scalability and performance.

"We designed our application switch for enterprises, e-commerce firms and service providers that demand not only superior network performance with wire speed switching, but also the richest and most comprehensive feature set available on the market," said Roy Zisapel, President and CEO of RADWARE Ltd.

"Working closely with Internet Service Providers to determine load balancing trends has helped RADWARE consistently introduce Internet Traffic Management products and features before our competitors," said Mike Long, VP of marketing and technology at RADWARE. "Partnerships with major ISPs ensure that we stay in touch with the real needs of our customers and the Internet community."

Availability and Pricing
RADWARE's Web Server Director will be the first product introduced into the market using the high performance Application Switch platform and will begin shipping in Q-3, 2000.

The Cache Server Director, FireProof and LinkProof products will follow in Q-4, 2000. Pricing will start at $19,500 for the Web Server Director Pro (WSD-Pro), $27,500 for Web Server Director for Distributed Sites (WSD-DS), and $34,500 for Web Server Director for Network Proximity (WSD-NP).

Availability for the WSD family will be by the end of Q-3. The FireProof, LinkProof and Cache Server Director will be by end of Q4.
