Website log analysis and reporting solution works without server access. The $500 version supports unlimited websites, which may allow ISPs to sell log analysis as a premium service.

Hiawatha Island Software Company released Hi-Stats. The software tracks Web site visitors by analyzing log files. According to the company, Hi-Stats provides reporting capabilities with the depth and breadth required to meet the needs of Web site owners ranging from Internet entrepreneurs to large enterprise customers, and is the first Web site visitor log analysis and reporting tool that does not require direct server access.

The company says that Hi-Stats requires no special programming or installation, and provides up-to-date, browser-based reports by the day or hour. Also, Hi-Stats is supposed to provide standard reports that include:

  1. Visitor behavior. The tool analyzes which pages generate the heaviest traffic and where a business may be losing customers. Specific reports trace new and repeat visitors by region, average number of requests and domain-tracking.
  2. Site statistics. The tool records URLs visited, resources accessed, total hits, size of total downloads, referring URLs, and a log of keywords and keyword phrases.
  3. Errors. Hi-Stats provides statistics on failed URLs, as well as hits and browser errors.
  4. Advertising campaign reporting. Users may obtain reports on views and clicks and affiliate link tracking.
  5. Virtual domains and bandwidth reporting.

HiSoftware will market Hi-Stats directly to business owners and Internet Service Providers. "Hi-Stats makes an excellent value-added service for an ISP to differentiate itself from the competition," said Robert B. Yonaitis, founder and CEO of HiSoftware. "It offers flexible reports with in-depth analysis at a very affordable price point for ISP customers."

"To compete effectively in the eMarketplace, it is essential to know what happens on your site, and, more importantly, to understand it," added Yonaitis. "Many Web site owners must rely on hit counters, which provide virtually no statistical information on Web site visitors, or their behavior. Hi-Stats provides vital, in-depth eBusiness Intelligence previously available only to organizations that own their Web servers — how visitors are getting to your site, unique and repeat visitors, and what types of information they are accessing. Armed with this intelligence, any size business can spot trends faster and compete more effectively on the Web."

Pricing and Availability
Hi-Stats is available now in three versions:

  • Hi-Stats, $99.99, supports three websites
  • Hi-Stats Professional, $199.99, supports up to 50 websites
  • Hi-Stats Premium Enterprise Version, $499.99, supports unlimited websites
