Celsian Technologies announced its Momentum G200 and G400 series high performance G.SHDSL (Symmetric High-Bit-Rate Digital Subscriber Loop) bridges and routers.

The Celsian "G" series are G.SHDSL routers that feature a LAN interface. The routers are designed to be easy to install and provide high performance connections from standard based SHDSL networks to private networks or the Internet. The G200 series should support 2 wire G.SHDSL with up to 2.36 Mbps connections and the G400 series should support 4 wire G.SHDSL at up to 4.7 Mbps.

The G series will ship with SmartCNCT, a series of applications that are designed to provide ease of installation for the end-user, advanced diagnostics for technical support, and session management for service providers to generate supplemental revenue and service differentiation. This should allow service providers to offer additional network sessions with quality of service for different applications. These products are expected to be among the first available under the soon-to-be-ratified G.SHDSL standard.

In addition, SmartCNCT sessions may provide for precise control over security, performance and management of users and resources per session. Other unique features include remote core loop back tests and back to back connections for high speed LAN extensions over a private network.

Additional features of the Momentum G200 and G400 series include:

  • 2 wire or 4 wire support for multiple line codes G.991.2.
  • Multi connection options: PPP over ATM (RFC 2364), RFC1483 bridging/routing over ATM AAL5 IPoA and PPP over Ethernet (RFC 2516).
  • Auto-detecting 10/100BASE-T port for G200T and G400T models.
  • Simplified LAN installation with an MDI/MDI-X switch eliminating the need for crossover cables.
  • Optional USB interface for Plug 'n' Play installation.
  • Network and Port Address Translation, DNS, DHCP and routing and bridging protocol.
  • Web browser configuration and management tool for easy selection of ISP or other services providers.
  • Built-in SNMP for remote management of industry standard platforms.
  • Support for 32 simultaneous PPP or Bridge/Routing sessions which should allow multiple concurrent connections to the same or different service provider.
  • OAM (Operation, Administration and Maintenance) support for network administration and support.

"With SmartCNCTtm Sessions you can have multiple sessions with different Quality of Service (QoS) for each session, say one for connecting to the office, a video server and one for general Internet access," said Chy Chuawiwat, Vice President of Sales for Celsian Technologies. "This would allow the ISP or service provider to offer additional services and service level agreements to their customers who use the G200 or G400 Series."
