Syndesis, Ltd. announced two new product releases in its NetProvision software suite: Activator 3.4 and Creator 2.0. According to the company, these software releases will give communications providers the ability to automate the fulfillment of IP policy implementation and end-to-end QoS delivery, and define, create and manage high-margin services and service policies.

The latest release of NetProvision Activator 3.4 is designed to automate IP service and policy implementation and end-to-end QoS delivery. Syndesis claims that providers may define relevant IP service and policy parameters, including QoS and access control variables, in bundles with existing access and transport services. According to Syndesis, these capabilities may increase the power and flexibility of a provider's service offerings while automation could reduce implementation complexity.

The other release, NetProvision Creator 2.0, is a service creation and management application that may be used to design, build, and administer high-margin services and service policies. Syndesis says that providers should be able to bundle existing services and service elements to form new, complex service applications that encompass multiple technologies—including value-added IP, VPNs, broadband access, wireless, and more.

"With NetProvision's latest capabilities, ISPs will be able to automate the fulfillment of IP services, including IP policy management,"said Martin J. Steinmann, Vice President of Marketing at Syndesis. "They will also be able to create and deliver differentiated and value-add IP based services to generate higher margins and unlock the chain to traditional IP based services."

Availability and pricing
NetProvision will be available by the end of the first Quarter 2001. Syndesis charges an initial license fee, and then, the price is determined by the size of the network and number of subscribers.
