ADSL Modems Support Multiple Standards and Operating Systems MaxGate's newest ADSL modems, the NetJet, are easy to configure, comply with ADSL standards (G.dmt, G.lite and T1.413), and support Mac, Windows, and Unix platforms.
MaxGate Inc. announced its line of advanced NetJet ADSL modems for telco carriers and service providers that is designed to serve as Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). According to the company, its line of modems and routers give service providers a simple, reliable way to enable their SOHO/business customers to share a single high-speed ADSL line with up to 253 users while providing the security of a built-in firewall, and save the cost of truck roll installations. MaxGate says that its new NetJet CPEs are easy to setup and configure, and should allow multiple users to share a single ADSL connection and a single IP address. Security features include automatic network address translation (NAT) to deflect scripted intrusion attempts. According to MaxGate, additional key features of the NetJet-4000 include:
The initial product release includes the NetJet-4000 (ADSL Modem for Ethernet and USB), NetJet-4010 (ADSL Modem with integrated router), and NetJet-4014 (ADSL Modem with integrated router plus 4-port switch). MaxGate claims that all models feature an intuitive, easy-to-use interface and built-in real-time clock that allows real-time information monitoring by end-users. On the WAN side, the modems are designed to comply with ADSL standards (G.dmt, G.lite and T1.413), and on the LAN side, support Mac, Windows, and Unix platforms. "Demand for high-quality, always-on broadband Internet access has remained great even during this telecom downturn, because people still want low-cost, high-speed Internet access," said Vincent Tai, president of MaxGate, Inc. "The new NetJet ADSL modems and routers will speed the broadband rollout by DSL providers, whether ILEC, CLEC or ISP."
