Chrysalis-ITS has designed its hardware security processing modules with a common, open interface architecture for companies that require trust and performance for VPN, PKI, e-commerce, and m-commerce applications.

The UTS Platform is a set of tools and hardware security modules that should enable both Internet security infrastructure vendors and e-business application developers to solve multiple e-business security processing problems, and ensure that mission critical encryption keys are protected from compromise.

According to the company, the UTS Platform provides high performance, high availability, security, and scalability for many of the basic elements of an e-business security infrastructure. These elements include digital certificate issuance, management, verification, transaction co-ordination, secure remote administration, and smart card management.

The UTS Platform is designed to deliver FIPS validated protection for vital parts of the security infrastructure, as well as signing performance. A common development environment may allow users to leverage a single open API to easily support, maintain, and upgrade their solutions to include the right mix of security, trust, and performance.

"Service providers implementing security infrastructures to enable new services require robust security and performance, to maintain user confidence and trust," said Carlos Fox, vice-president marketing and business development, Chrysalis-ITS.

"By leveraging Chrysalis-ITS' comprehensive hardware security platform across their secure transaction processing systems, ISPs can ensure cryptographic acceleration for virtual private networking, a key application for digital certificates and digital signature processing as well as high levels of security for Telcos and ISPs using complementary digital certificate technology services."

VeriSign Affiliates using Chrysalis-ITS' Luna products include: Adacom of Greece, ArabTrust of Kuwait, British Telecommunications in the United Kingdom, Certisign of Brazil, CertiSign of Portugal, Certplus of France, CIBC of Canada, Crosscert of Korea, D-Trust of Germany, eSign of Australia, Euro909 of Denmark, HiTrust.com of Hong Kong, MSC Trustgate.com of Malaysia, PT Trust of Egypt, Roccade of the Netherlands, Telia of Sweden, and TrustItalia of Italy.

Pricing and availability
Chrysalis-ITS' UTS Platform is available now. Pricing for individual modules starts at US$1,695.
