February 26, 2002 -- National broadband service provider Speakeasy announced the launch of its new managed security product for personal computers, MyFirewall.

A combination of industrial-strength firewall and desktop intrusion protection, MyFirewall makes use of Internet Security Systems' BlackICE technology, which Speakeasy has enhanced to provide centralized security control, customized and round-the-clock protection, and automatic service updates.

MyFirewall is the first of several products to be included in the Speakeasy Neighborhood Watch Program, which will eventually include SPAM filtering, content filtering, and anti-virus protection. Currently, the service is available only to Speakeasy customers and costs $4.95 per month, including a free three-day trial.
