TelePacific Enhances Unified Communications Services

February 20, 2002 -- TelePacific Communications, a broadband telecommunications provider in the Western U.S., will enhance its Shadow Personal Assistant service with additional text-to-speech and call handling features provided by Call Sciences, a provider of unified communications services based in Edison, N.J.

The additional services are part of a multi-year agreement that expands the companies' existing relationship in which Call Sciences provides service and technical support through its flagship unified communications product, Personal Assistantâ. TelePacific has been a Call Sciences customer since 1998.

With the added features, TelePacific can offer its Shadow Personal Assistant customers the ability to have e-mails read to them over the phone via a synthesized, near-human quality voice. Other new features include enhanced voicemail capabilities for managing calls and faxing features. Shadow Personal Assistant also allows customers access to voice, email, and fax messages from anywhere in the world via browser, telephone, PDA, or fax.
