February 20, 2002 -- MetaSolv Software, Inc., a provider of communications management solutions, announced that Wisconsin-based Norlight Telecommunications, Inc. (Norlight) has selected MetaSolv Solution 5.1 (M/5.1) as the cornerstone of its operation support system (OSS). Norlight, a full-service telecommunications provider of integrated data solutions, chose M/5.1 to support their full suite of service offerings, including Internet access, web hosting, voice, and managed services.

The MetaSolv Solution assists Norlight in the efficient management of order processing, service provisioning, network inventory and design, trouble resolution, and work-flow management business functions. Norlight selected the MetaSolv Solution as its comprehensive OSS management tool to streamline key business processes for the delivery of services over its expanding optical network, which includes advanced technologies such as SONET and DWDM.

M/5.1, the most recent upgrade of the MetaSolv Solution, features Technology Modules for backbone and access support that include pre-loaded sets of rules and processes, which will enable Norlight to more quickly deploy and provision next-generation services for IP, MPLS, Ethernet, ATM/Frame Relay, DSL, and Digital Loop Carrier (DLC). Norlight also has engaged MetaSolv professional services to migrate multiple databases into the MetaSolv Solution as well as to provide end-to-end implementation services.
