February 18, 2002 -- Global Crossing announced the launch of Global Crossing Direct Dial Services, a new voice offering that should seamlessly connect businesses around the world. The new voice service delivers international and national long distance voice connections to 240 countries over Global Crossing's fiber optic network. Direct Dial Services may also enable businesses to maximize cost savings by utilizing "any distance" pricing -- users pay a low price based on call destination, not distance.

Direct Dial Services are now available to businesses in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States for calling to 240 international destinations. National (interstate/intrastate) calling and local voice services are also available to businesses in the United States and in the United Kingdom.

Direct Dial Services are available with "any distance" pricing -- users pay the same low price per minute to call France whether they call from Japan, Belgium, the United States, or any other available country. "Any distance" pricing allows global companies to manage their telecom costs with a stable, predictable and competitive pricing structure -- saving money and telecom management expenditures.

Beyond global pricing, the product is fully global in many other respects, from 24x7 global customer care in multiple languages to ordering, provisioning, billing detail, and single-point-of-contact global account management. As such, Direct Dial Services are designed to give customers the identical experience in all regions of the world, better serving the needs of global enterprise customers.
