February 15, 2002 -- Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (Amex: TDS), a supplier of wireless and local telephone services, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement for the acquisition of the Telecommunication Systems of New Hampshire, Inc., of Wilton, NH, ("TSNH"), a privately-held telecommunications company which owns the Wilton Telephone Company, Inc., Wilton, NH, and Hollis Telephone Company, Inc, Hollis, NH. The transaction is subject to certain conditions including regulatory approvals. The closing is expected to be in the second quarter of 2002. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Through its Wilton and Hollis telephone companies, TSNH serves approximately 7,500 access lines in two exchanges, together with 1,400 Internet and DSL customers in south central New Hampshire.
