Williams to Carry Super Bowl BroadcastWayne
Kawamoto January 30, 2002 -- Williams Communications (NYSE: WCG), a provider of broadband services to bandwidth-centric customers, announced it would provide the Super Bowl broadcast transmission services for the 13th consecutive year. On Feb. 3, Williams Communications will transmit the live broadcast of Super Bowl XXXVI over its fiber-optic network, enabling broadcasters to deliver the game to millions of viewers worldwide. During the Super Bowl, Williams Communications will provide 12 fiber-optic transmission paths from the Louisiana Superdome to broadcasters' production facilities, where the broadcast will then be distributed to the viewing public around the world. Fox is broadcasting the game live domestically, while NFL Films will distribute the game internationally to more than 180 countries. -End- |
