BellSouth Trials JetstreamWayne
Kawamoto January 30, 2002 -- BellSouth (NYSE: BLS) announced that during the last quarter of 2001, it completed a test of Jetstream Communications' CPX-1000 platform with small business customers in Atlanta and Miami as part of an operations trial and the company's ongoing evaluation of new technologies. BellSouth plans to use the information gathered during the trial to develop new broadband-enabled services. Using Jetstream's JetVision management platform and integrated access devices (IADs), the Jetstream platform takes advantage of broadband connections to deliver additional services. In particular, trial participants used DSL connections for voice services and access to the Internet. BellSouth is using the trial as part of ongoing work to evaluate additional services that it can offer to the company's existing broadband customers. -End- |
