January 29, 2002 -- Broadview Networks, a network-based electronically integrated communications provider (e-ICP), announced that it has purchased some of the Net2000 Communications assets recently acquired by Cavalier Telephone, a privately held competitive local exchange carrier based in Richmond, Va.

The purchase includes network equipment located in the Northeast, which Cavalier acquired in a bankruptcy sale from Net2000 Communications, Inc.

The agreement also gives Broadview Networks access to over 1,000 Net2000 small and medium-sized business accounts in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. They represent about 13,000 access line equivalents.
