Level 3 Inks Agreements With Cox

January 17, 2002 -- Level 3 Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: LVLT) announced it has signed multiple agreements to provide Cox Communications with broadband infrastructure services that support the company's 779,000 residential and business high-speed Internet customers. The agreements enable Cox to provide high-speed Internet services over its own nationwide Internet Protocol (IP) network.

Under the terms of the agreements, Cox has purchased (3)CrossRoads Internet access and (3)Center Colocation service in five major U.S. markets to connect its subscribers to the public Internet, other networks and content providers. Cox also is using Level 3's OC-48 (3)Link Private Line and metropolitan dark fiber services to connect its regional data centers and metropolitan fiber-optic networks to the Level 3 network.
