January 9, 2002 -- US LEC Corp. (Nasdaq: CLEC), a telecommunications carrier providing voice, data and Internet services, will provide a total telecommunications solution, including local, long distance and digital private line services, to the Dekalb County School System (DCSS) in Atlanta, Georgia.

DeKalb County, with a population of some 600,000 people, is situated in Metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. There are over 96,000 students in the public schools in DeKalb County. There are currently 82 elementary schools, 16 middle schools, 21 high schools, and 18 specialized centers.
