Birch Telecom Expands To 5 Southeastern Cities

January 9, 2002 -- Birch Telecom announced that it will offer local and long-distance on one simplified bill in five new markets: Huntsville, Ala.; Asheville, N.C.; and Columbus, Macon and Savannah, Ga.

Just last year, Birch expanded into BellSouth territory, offering business service in 14 markets, including hundreds of suburbs, across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The company added residential service in the same areas four months ago.
